Tris and her companions escape over Chicago’s wall and are taken to a facility that has been observing the city. Its director offers Tris a special place in his plans, while Four grows suspicious of the control exercised over the people they have left behind. Divided between the facility’s promises and events inside Chicago, the group must decide whether its rescuers can be trusted.
