No second season has been announced. Stapley’s announced sequel, No Such Thing as Lucky, has not been adapted. She has an agreement to use Billie Rand and Dutch, two characters created for the series, in that book.

What changed from the book

The winning lottery ticket is no longer the problem

The book gives Lucky a winning ticket she cannot cash without exposing herself to arrest. The series removes that plot and builds the chase around a failed heist. Stapley said the ticket would have complicated a seven-episode pursuit by both the FBI and organized crime.

The book also alternates between Lucky’s childhood and 2008. The series moves the present-day story forward and uses fewer flashbacks. More of her upbringing with John remains in the book.
