Chani stops believing
In the book, Chani believes in Paul's religious role. In Part Two, Villeneuve turns her into its sharpest critic, and her doubts become a big part of the movie.
Villeneuve said he made the change to make Herbert's warning about charismatic leaders clearer, by giving it to someone who loves Paul.
